Annie Mae Bondurant is a civil rights activist and author. She was born in 1939 in rural Mississippi, and grew up witnessing the injustices of segregation and discrimination firsthand. Bondurant joined the civil rights movement in the 1960s, and quickly became a leader in the fight for voting rights and desegregation. She was arrested and jailed多次, but she never gave up.
