Claudette Colvin: Twice Toward Justice

Claudette Colvin was a 15-year-old African American girl when she refused to give up her seat on a bus to a white man in Montgomery, Alabama, in 1955. Her act of defiance came nine months before Rosa Parks' more famous act of resistance, and it helped to spark the Montgomery Bus Boycott, a major turning point in the Civil Rights Movement.

Colvin's story is a powerful reminder of the courage and determination of the young people who fought for civil rights in the 1950s and 1960s. She was just a teenager when she stood up for what she believed in, and she faced danger and discrimination as a result. But she never gave up, and she eventually helped to make a difference in the world.

Claudette Colvin: Twice Toward Justice is a must-read for anyone interested in the Civil Rights Movement, women's history, or American history. It is a story of courage, determination, and triumph, and it is an inspiration to us all.
